KENRA JOHNSON, FNP-C

Kenra Johnson is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a deep passion for women’s health, especially perimenopause, menopause, and hormone therapy. Her healthcare journey began early; her father was injured in the Vietnam War long before she was born, and she grew up helping her mother care for him. He lovingly called her his “little nurse,” and from a young age, she knew she was meant to care for others.
Kenra earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Mesa Community College in 2008, later completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2010. In 2014, she graduated from Grand Canyon University with her Master’s Degree in Nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. Over the years, she has cared for adult and pediatric patients in the Arizona Burn Center, Emergency Department, and outpatient Oncology, as well as working in a walk-in clinic and managing geriatric patients in their homes. Some of her most meaningful work has been caring for her father, mother, and grandmother until each of them passed away.
Her personal experience with perimenopause opened her eyes to a profound gap in medical education and support for women during this stage of life. She recognized that too many women suffer in silence with symptoms like weight gain, anxiety, heart palpitations, mood changes, brain fog, fatigue, decreased libido, and more — often without realizing these changes may share a common cause: hormonal decline. Determined to change this, Kenra has made it her mission to educate and empower women so they understand what’s happening in their bodies, know they are not alone, and realize they can feel like themselves again.
Kenra’s approach is rooted in connection. She wants every patient to feel heard, understood, and confident in the care they receive. When you leave her office, her goal is for you to have hope, clarity, and the assurance that you are not broken.
Kenra has been married to her husband, Ed, for 24 years, and they have four children, ages 20, 18, 18, and 9. She is one of eight siblings and enjoys spending time with her large extended family. Alaska holds a special place in her heart, where her family spends summers making memories together. In May 2023, she joined AZ Vitality and Wellness — her dream job — where she works alongside a team equally committed to providing the best, evidence-based care to their patients.
