Non-surgical body contouring, also called body sculpting, uses energy-based devices instead of surgery to build muscle, reduce stubborn fat, smooth cellulite, and firm loose skin in specific areas. At AZ Vitality and Wellness in Peoria, we offer EMSCULPT NEO, EMTONE, EXION, and EMFACE. There’s no downtime; most plans include about four sessions, and your consultation is free, includes a short demo, and comes with no obligation to book.

Many people come to us already eating well and working out, yet still stuck with one area that won’t change: a soft lower belly, thighs with cellulite, or skin that didn’t tighten after weight loss. In the Valley, where shorts and swimsuit weather lasts most of the year, those spots are hard to ignore. That’s what body contouring is for.

Below is a straight account of what each treatment does, how many sessions it takes, what it can’t do, and when weight loss or surgery is the better answer. If you’d rather talk it through, call or text us at 602-540-3547.

The basics

What Is Non-Surgical Body Contouring and How Does It Work?

Non-surgical body contouring, often called body sculpting, changes the shape of a specific area without incisions, anesthesia, or recovery time. Instead of focusing on the number on the scale, it targets the three layers that shape how an area looks: muscle, fat, and skin.

Each device works on one or two of those layers. EMSCULPT NEO uses electromagnetic energy to make the muscle contract repeatedly, like an intense workout, plus radiofrequency heat aimed at the fat layer. EMTONE combines radiofrequency with targeted pressure to firm skin and smooth the look of cellulite, and EXION uses radiofrequency to support collagen. EMFACE pairs radiofrequency with muscle stimulation for the face.

It isn’t weight loss. Body contouring refines areas that haven’t responded to diet and exercise, so it works best when you’re at or near a weight you can maintain. If you have more weight to lose, our medical weight loss program is the better first step, and many patients do both.

What body contouring can and can’t do

It can

  • Tone and strengthen muscle in the treated area
  • Reduce a modest amount of stubborn fat in one area
  • Smooth the look of cellulite
  • Firm mild to moderate loose skin

It can’t

  • Replace weight loss or change your weight much
  • Remove large amounts of fat the way liposuction can
  • Remove hanging skin the way a tummy tuck can
  • Hold results without steady weight and exercise

We’ll tell you which column your goal falls in before you book a series.

Compare your options

Non-Surgical Body Contouring vs. CoolSculpting vs. Surgery

Non-surgical body contouring compared with fat freezing and surgery
Compare Non-surgical contouring (EMSCULPT NEO, EMTONE, EXION) Fat freezing (CoolSculpting) Surgery (liposuction, tummy tuck)
How it works Devices build muscle, heat fat, and firm skin from the outside Cooling panels freeze and destroy fat cells in one area Liposuction suctions fat out; a tummy tuck removes skin and tightens the abdominal wall
Incisions and anesthesia None None Incisions, with local or general anesthesia
Downtime None. Mild muscle soreness for a few days is common after EMSCULPT NEO. Usually none, though numbness, swelling, or tenderness in the area can last a while Typically one to several weeks, depending on the procedure
Muscle EMSCULPT NEO builds and tones muscle No effect on muscle A tummy tuck can repair separated abdominal muscles; liposuction doesn’t change muscle
Loose skin Firms mild to moderate laxity (EMTONE, EXION) Doesn’t tighten skin A tummy tuck removes excess skin; liposuction doesn’t
Best for Toning, modest fat reduction, and smoother, firmer skin with no recovery A small pocket of fat when muscle tone isn’t a goal Large amounts of fat, or skin that hangs

We don’t offer CoolSculpting or surgery. If your goal is better served by one of them, we’ll tell you at your consultation rather than sell you a series that can’t get you there.

After weight loss

Body Contouring After Weight Loss: Rebuilding Muscle and Firming Skin

Losing a lot of weight, especially quickly, can take muscle along with fat, and skin doesn’t always shrink back at the same pace. It’s a common story after a GLP-1 program: the scale moved, but the shape didn’t follow.

Protein and strength training come first, and your provider can help with both. Body contouring builds on that work: EMSCULPT NEO rebuilds muscle tone in areas like the abdomen and buttocks, and EMTONE or EXION firms mildly loose skin.

If the skin hangs or folds over, no device will remove it. That’s a conversation for a surgical consultation, and we’ll let you know.

A typical order of steps

  1. Reach a stable weight Body contouring holds best once your weight has settled.
  2. Scan your starting point A Styku 3D body scan records measurements and body composition.
  3. Rebuild muscle EMSCULPT NEO on the areas that lost tone, alongside strength training.
  4. Firm the skin EMTONE or EXION for mild loose skin, then a follow-up scan.

What to expect

What to Expect From Consultation to Results

Your consultation is free and takes about 40 minutes.

1

Book a free consult

Choose “Body Contouring Consultation” when you book online, or call or text us at 602-540-3547, which is the fastest way onto the schedule.

2

Feel it, then decide

We look at the area, review your health history, give you a short demo of the device, and recommend a plan with your exact price. There’s no obligation to book.

3

Your sessions

Most take 20 to 30 minutes per area on a treatment bed. EMSCULPT NEO feels like strong muscle contractions with warmth; EMTONE feels like a hot stone massage with vibration.

4

Back to your day

There’s no downtime. Mild muscle soreness, like after a hard workout, can last a few days after EMSCULPT NEO.

5

Watch results build

Changes build over the weeks after your series. A follow-up scan shows what the scale can’t.

Safety

Is Body Contouring Safe? Who Shouldn’t Have It

The devices we use are non-invasive and FDA-cleared, and the most common side effects are mild: muscle soreness for a few days after EMSCULPT NEO, and temporary warmth, redness, or swelling after radiofrequency treatments like EMTONE and EXION.

Every plan starts with a review of your health history, because a few things rule a device out or change where it can go.

Tell us before you book if you:

  • Are pregnant, or might be
  • Have a pacemaker or another implanted electronic device
  • Have metal implants near the treatment area
  • Have a copper IUD and want your abdomen treated
  • Have a heart condition, a seizure history, or a skin problem in the area

Body contouring isn’t right for everyone, and if it isn’t right for you, we’ll say so.

Questions to ask any body contouring clinic

  1. Is this device FDA-cleared for the area I want treated?
  2. Who performs my sessions, and which clinician oversees my plan?
  3. How many sessions will I need, and what’s the total cost?
  4. How will we measure my results?

Ask us any of these at your consultation. We’re glad to answer.

Tracking results

Measuring Progress Beyond the Scale

The scale doesn’t always tell the full story. If you build muscle and lose fat at the same time, your weight can barely move while your shape changes.

A Styku 3D body scan before your first session and another after your series shows changes in measurements and body composition that a scale can’t, so you and your provider are judging results on data, not mirror selfies.

Styku 3D body scan

  • Contactless, and the scan takes about 35 seconds
  • Tracks body fat percentage, lean mass, and measurements
  • $49 per scan; buy three and get one free
  • Free quarterly scans for current weight loss patients

Is this you?

Who Is a Good Candidate for Body Contouring?

Body contouring tends to make sense if you:

  • Are at or near a weight you can maintain
  • Have a stubborn area that hasn’t responded to diet and exercise
  • Want more muscle definition or core strength
  • Have cellulite or mild loose skin, including after weight loss
  • Want a non-surgical option with no downtime
  • Plan to keep up the habits that hold your results

When it isn’t the right first step

If you have significant weight to lose, start there. Body contouring refines shape; it doesn’t replace that work, and results hold better at a stable weight.

If your shape is changing for reasons you can’t explain, like new belly fat that shows up alongside fatigue or mood changes, labs may find a hormonal cause worth treating first.

Cost

How Much Does Body Contouring Cost in Peoria?

It depends on the treatment, the area, and how many sessions your body needs, so a single online price won’t be accurate for most people. That’s why your consultation is free: we review your goals, give you a short demo so you can experience what a session is like, and provide an exact price for your plan before you decide anything.

Body contouring is elective, so insurance doesn’t cover it. Package pricing is available for a series, and Cherry payment plans let eligible patients spread the cost over time.

FAQ

Body Contouring FAQs

Body contouring, also called body sculpting, is a group of treatments that change the shape of a specific area by building muscle, reducing fat, or firming skin. Non-surgical body contouring uses devices instead of incisions, so there’s no anesthesia and no downtime. At AZ Vitality and Wellness in Peoria, that means EMSCULPT NEO, EMTONE, EXION, and EMFACE.
For the right goal, yes. EMSCULPT NEO can build muscle tone and reduce a modest amount of fat in the treated area, and EMTONE and EXION can smooth the look of cellulite and firm mild loose skin. Results are gradual and smaller than surgery’s, and they depend on keeping a steady weight. We’ll tell you at your consultation whether your goal is realistic with a device.
Pricing depends on the treatment, the area, and how many sessions your plan requires, so we don’t list a single price online. Your consultation is free, and you’ll leave it with your exact price before you commit to anything. Package pricing is available for a series, and Cherry payment plans are available for eligible patients.

Yes. It takes about 40 minutes, costs nothing, and comes with no obligation to book. You’ll get a short demo to see what a session is like, a recommended plan with your exact price, and time to decide for yourself.

Yes. Every free consultation includes a short demo on the device, so you know what a session feels like before you commit to a series. Most people find it easier to decide once they’ve felt it.
Muscle tone from EMSCULPT NEO lasts as long as you keep the muscle working, and some people add a maintenance session every few months. Fat cells that are destroyed don’t come back, but the fat cells that remain can still grow if you gain weight. Skin results from EMTONE and EXION fade gradually with age, so touch-up sessions are common.
The treatments we offer are non-invasive and FDA-cleared, and the most common side effects are mild muscle soreness after EMSCULPT NEO and temporary redness or warmth after radiofrequency treatments. They aren’t for everyone: tell us if you’re pregnant, have a pacemaker or other implanted device, or have metal implants near the treatment area.
Most plans are a series of about four. EMSCULPT NEO is usually four sessions 5 to 10 days apart, and EMTONE is usually four sessions about a week apart. EXION and EMFACE plans vary, and we’ll set yours at your consultation.
CoolSculpting freezes fat cells in one area. EMSCULPT NEO heats fat with radiofrequency and contracts the muscle underneath, so it targets fat and builds muscle tone in the same session. We offer EMSCULPT NEO, not CoolSculpting.
No. Weight loss lowers your overall body weight. Body contouring changes the shape, tone, and skin of specific areas, and it works best when you’re at or near a weight you can maintain. If you have more to lose, our medical weight loss program is the better first step.
It can help with mild to moderate loose skin. EMTONE and EXION use radiofrequency to firm skin, and EMSCULPT NEO can rebuild muscle tone underneath. Skin that hangs or folds over usually needs surgery, and we’ll tell you if that’s where you are.
Most people describe it as intense rather than painful: strong muscle contractions with warmth, like a hard workout. The intensity can be adjusted during your session, and mild soreness for a few days afterward is common.
No. You can go back to work and your normal activities right after a session. Some people notice mild soreness or temporary redness in the treated area.
Yes. Every treatment we offer works for men and women, and EMSCULPT NEO is a common choice for men who want more definition in the abdomen, arms, or buttocks.
Start with your goal. Muscle tone and stubborn fat point to EMSCULPT NEO, cellulite to EMTONE, loose skin to EXION or EMTONE, and the face to EMFACE. At your free consultation, we look at the area and your health history and recommend one treatment or a combination.
