What Is EMVITAL, and How Does It Work?

EMVITAL is a functional laser platform made by BTL, the same company behind EMSCULPT NEO and EMSELLA. Instead of a handheld wand, the laser arm is positioned over the area and runs hands-free while your provider stays with you.

Deep, Controlled Warmth

A 1064 nm infrared laser gently heats the muscle and tissue beneath the skin. That warmth is what temporarily increases local blood flow, relaxes tight muscle and eases pain and stiffness.

Sensors That Watch Your Skin

An ultrasonic sensor keeps the laser at the right distance and an infrared camera tracks your skin temperature the whole time, so the heat stays even and comfortable instead of depending on how steady someone’s hand is.

Why heat, and why a laser? Warmth is what most people reach for when a muscle is tight, but a heating pad only warms the surface. Laser energy at this wavelength reaches the tissue underneath, where the knot or the stiff joint actually is, without needles, anesthesia or downtime.

What Does an EMVITAL Session Feel Like?

Most people are surprised by how relaxing it is. You lie back, the laser arm is positioned over the area, and under 30 minutes later you’re done.

Step 1

Getting Set Up

You lie comfortably in a private room with the area uncovered. Your provider positions the laser arm a few inches above your skin and sets the device for the area. You’ll wear protective eyewear while the laser is on.

Step 2

During the Treatment

You’ll feel a gentle warmth that builds over the first few minutes and then stays steady. Nothing touches you. The sensors keep the heat even, and your provider is in the room the whole time, adjusting if it ever feels too warm.

Step 3

Afterward

Go right back to work or your normal day. There’s no downtime. The area may feel warm and look a little pink for a short while, like after a heating pad.
